Armed Robbery – Elwick Hotel
Glenorchy Police charged a 32-year-old Glenorchy man with Armed Robbery following an incident at the Elwick Hotel in Glenorchy at around 2am this morning, Monday 23 October.
Police allege that the man complied with the established security requirements of the hotel, initially. Upon entering the gaming area however, he produced a crow bar which he used to threaten staff before leaving the hotel with a quantity of cash.
He was located by police in the vicinity of the hotel a short time later and has been charged with one count of Armed Robbery and remanded to appear in court later today.
No one was injured as a result of the robbery and the money has been recovered.
