Annual Tasmania Police Charity Trust Bike Ride – Taking Off

74 riders will participate in this year’s Tasmania Police Charity Trust Bike Ride.

Setting off from Triabunna on Friday morning at 9am the riders and their 11 support crew will travel 170kms to St Helens on the first day.

On Saturday morning the pack will ride 190kms from St Helens to Tamar Valley Resort where they will recuperate for the evening; before completing a further 80kms on Sunday morning and finishing their epic journey at Devonport Surf Club at approximately 1pm.

28 Tasmanian police officers ranging from Constable to Inspector will participate in the ride and will be joined by 1 NSW officer who is participating for the 5th year running.

“There are several police officers and sponsors who have ridden and supported every kilometre of this amazing journey with us since 2007,” said Constable Richard Douglas

“The event is the success it is today due to the dedication and enthusiasm of our participants and supporters,” he said.

“We are well on our way towards our fundraising target of $40K, however donations are always welcome.

“The riders all cherish the ability to live a healthy lifestyle and are thankful for the opportunity to fundraise for organisations which offer assistance to young Tasmanians living with serious illness,” said Senior Constable Richard Douglas.

“This year, the fundraising from the ride will be divided between two very worthy organisations; Ronald McDonald House Hobart and Camp Quality Tasmania.”
