Launceston Detectives have arrested a 19 year old female in relation to an incident in which she is alleged to have threatened a shop employee with a hypodermic syringe in the Launceston Central Business District at about 2.30pm on Sunday 30^th September 2012.

The female had been challenged regarding an alleged shop lifting incident. The staff member was unharmed and the female fled the scene.

 Shortly afterwards the female was located and charged with Armed Robbery. The female has been detained and will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday 01/10/12.

 Police are requesting any witnesses to the incident to contact Launceston Criminal Investigation Services.
