Aggravated burglary – Strickland Ave, Hobart
Tasmania Police are investigating the report of an aggravated burglary in Strickland Avenue in South Hobart, which occurred around 11.30am this morning.
An elderly woman was at home in her lounge room, when two men broke into the kitchen. At that time, the woman’s daughter in-law arrived, and the men ran past her, out of the house. One of the men assaulted her as they ran past. The elderly lady was not hurt.
Plain Clothes and uniformed officers searched the surrounding areas for two males seen leaving the area by members of the public. The Police helicopter was used to perform an air search of surrounding bushland.
Police are seeking information from anyone who may have seen two males in the Strickland Avenue area around 11.30am on 4 August 2014.
One of the males is described as:
18-20 years of age, solid build, dark curly hair, wearing a chequered Blue/red/beige bush jacket and a grey cap.
The second male is described as:
Similar age and build, also with dark curly hair, wearing a dark long sleeved top.
