Glenorchy police are appealing for assistance from members of the public into the investigation of an aggravated burglary that occurred in Leighland Road, Claremont this afternoon shortly before 2pm today.

A house in the street was accessed by smashing a rear door. Once inside the thieves have stolen children’s Christmas presents from under the Christmas tree inside the residence.

It is believed that the thieves have left the residence on foot, carrying a dark coloured laundry basket filled with the presents, which included a Sony Playstation and assorted games.
