A plethora of Pinkishness

‘When Pigs Fly’ is an informal social motorcycle group, for members of the Tasmania Police Service (past & present), their families and friends.

Last year, after the death of a colleague, they decided to do a tribute ride in her honour. This suggestion grew into a fundraising effort to raise money for research into a cure for Breast Cancer – the pink ribbon ride.

Constable Kevin Smith is an integral part of the ride. He and his wife have their own story to tell. He writes;

“We dressed our bikes and ourselves in all sorts of pink finery and rode with the Ulysses Motorcycle Club to Campbelltown, where bikes from all over Tasmania joined our group from Hobart.

“In all around 250 motorcycles were involved. It was a plethora of pinkishness that raised awareness as well as money.

“This year also we are participating and fundraising and we again seek your support,” he said.

This years’ ride will be held on Sunday 26th October 2014, leaving the Willows Tavern at 9am.

A $5.00 participation fee will be collected by the Ulysses Club and will be forwarded to The Cancer Council, Tasmania.
