50 Y/O Female driver nearly crashes into police car and is found with triple the alcohol limit
A 50-year-old Burnie driver has been immediately disqualified for 12 months after she exceeded the breath alcohol limit by more than 3 times last night.
Just after 7pm on Saturday the 16th of July 2022 a grey Suzuki Swift was being driven on Formby Road, Devonport when it nearly collided with a police vehicle.
Police intercepted the driver, who was transporting two other passengers at the time, and she recorded a breath analysis reading of 0.190.
The female was arrested and charged with drive a motor vehicle whilst exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit and fail to give way, and bailed to appear in court at a later date.
Tasmania Police Service are very concerned of the driver’s actions that not only put themselves at risk, but other road users also.
Alcohol is one of our ‘fatal five’ contributors to serious and fatal crashes in Tasmania and it was very fortunate that on this occasion, no was injured or killed.
