About 12.30am this morning, Monday 10 February 2014, police were called to Lenah Valley Road, Lenah Valley in relation to a disturbance.

Upon arrival police located a man with two wounds to his lower abdomen in the street.  He was conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital for treatment, but was released from the hospital later that morning.

As a result of a subsequent investigation a 37 year old woman was charged with one count of wounding and was bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 24 March 2014.

A search of the area was conducted by police for evidence.

Police are appealing to any member of the public who locates a knife, in the street or the yard of their premises, in the area of Lenah Valley near Athleen Avenue, to avoid handling the knife and contact police immediately on 131 444.
