15 year old youth charged over Hobart burglaries
A 15 year old male youth will today appear in a closed session of the Youth Division of the Hobart Magistrates Court.
He has been charged with 5 x Home Burglaries in the Glenorchy area and 2 x Business Burglaries within Eastlands Shopping Centre.
Stolen during these burglaries was property valued at approximately $16,500, with police recovering approximately $14,000 worth.
The property targeted was small electronics such as laptops and iPads, car keys and jewellery.
The public are reminded to remain vigilant in locking doors even if at home, and to report any suspicious behaviour, including youths trespassing on private property, to the police or Crime Stoppers.
When reporting suspicious people, the public are asked to take note of a description of people involved including their clothing, and a description of the vehicle including registration details if they’re using a vehicle.
