10th Annual Tasmania Police Charity Trust Bike Ride
A total of 68 riders (including one from Queensland Police) will set off in the Tasmania Police Charity Trust Bike Ride tomorrow.
“Now in its 10th year, the success of this annual event has exceeded all expectations thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of our participants and supporters,” said Constable Richard Douglas.
“With us again this year are several police officers and sponsors who have ridden and supported us every year since 2007.
“The riders are pleased to have the opportunity to support Down Syndrome Tasmania this year, with the fundraising goal of $50,000,” said Constable Douglas.
Commencing at Cradle Mountain Hotel at 8:45am tomorrow morning (Friday, 18 November) the riders will travel via Strahan, Queenstown and Tarraleah to arrive at Glenorchy Police Station at 1pm on Sunday, 20 November.
Commissioner Hine will welcome the riders over the finish line along with a troupe from the BrightStars Down Syndrome Tasmania dancing group that will perform for the riders at the end of ride BBQ.
“The riders are all well prepared for the journey ahead of them over the coming days and are looking forward to a dance performance by the BrightStars,” said Constable Douglas.
