A non-emergency situation is one that is not life-threatening or time-critical.
Depending on what your text message says, a police officer will either text back, dispatch a unit to your location, or call you back using the National Relay Service.
The text service is designed to provide a convenient line of communication with police officers for hearing and speech impaired people.
To send a text message to police, text your written message to 0439 131 444.

If you need an interpreter, call 13 14 50.
Immediate phone interpreting is available 24 hours, every day of the year for people with limited or no English who need to use an interpreter over the phone.
